I have a chnace to buy a brand new Tasco Titan 1.25- 4.5x26mm scope for $101.

I will mount it on a 12 ga slug gun.

Any thoughts on these scopes and how they hold up.

Thanks

I don't know much about their Titan model, but I would pass up that scope for a couple of reasons.  First, I do not generally trust Tasco scopes, especially on hard kicking rifles and shotguns.  Second, I have concerns about their warranty since they are out of business.  I don't think that Bushnell, the new owner of Tasco, will honor their warranties.

Use the money and apply it towards something else.

There's another post on the EXP - I wouldn't consider it. :noway:

BTW, you mentioned that there were several Titan's available.  Like Chris said, are they made in Japan?  If yes, and you are only going to buy one, or even two, then kindly let Chris, or any of other members know, so that they can purchase one.  I personally don't care for one, but, unless you purchase all of them, it sounds like some other members might like to buy one.

They are made in Japan

The Tasco Titans that are available are all made in Japan, brand new in the box in pristine condition. The bad new is that I had the price confused with the EXP scopes. The EXP's are $101. My appologies.

I got the info on these scopes from a part time FFL that I know. He gave me the number of the guy and I talked to him. He is a distributor that deals in hunting/shooting supply close-outs. He is willing to sell me them in bulk only. I would need to buy at least 7 of the Titans.

I can see using 2, but not 7. If I did buy 7, I would have to sell 5.

He has them available in the following versions and I would sell them at the following price.

1.25-4.5 x 26mm   $139
3-9 x 42mm          $169
1.5 - 5 x42mm     $129
3-12x52mm           $159

Does anyone have an opinon of these prices for Tasco Titans ?  If these prices are outstanding !! Then I may consider doing this. But I would only do it if the price is a real bargin that folks would be willing to jump on.

Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

Cabin,

I agree with Chris.

In my opinion, I think that the prices are high.  I could get much better name brand scopes for about the same money.  I don't know how well you know your FFL friend, but I don't see why he can't sell the scopes one at a time, and for a much more reasonable price - especially given that they are no longer under warranty.

Just my thoughts.
