Excuse my ignorance!
« on: March 03, 2008, 03:21:57 AM »
Hey guys I am a glock man but considering adding a Sig to my collection. Was thinking about a full size 9mm for competing in practical shooting events. My Question is are Sigs DAO or DA? Thanks! Also, what model should I buy?
Most people say I'm an idiot!

While SiG makes DAO guns, most are Traditional double action. The standard full size DA is the P-226. It is considered by many to be the end all of 9MM DA handguns. It is a great one. Another very useful SiG is the P-229. Slightly smaller in size than the 226 but either one should meet your needs. I have a few SiGs and I will never be without a 226 , 220 and a 229. Go to Sigforum to learn more in detail.
Good luck with choosing, be aware they are addictive.

I would also recommend the 245, it is a compact .45.  It is considerable smaller than the 220, six round mag, but it will also accept the 220 mag for a couple of extra shots if needed.
