1895 GS

My 1895 GS is only a month old.  As I was at the range this past weekend shooting Buffalo Bore 500grns, I noticed the rifle felt wobbly....I looked at it carefully and saw the wooden buttstock split where it meets the receiver....called Marlin and they are sending me a new buttstock......so, the question is, how difficult is it to replace the buttstock? Should I take it to a smith?

Replacing the stock is very easy.....one screw......fitting it, should it need fitting is a different story.  Hopefully, you'll just remove the tang screw and pull the old stock off, slide the new stock on, and replace the screw.

I really thing you won't need a gunsmith.
