Hammer Extensions
« on: October 23, 2006, 03:23:41 PM »
I'm curious if anyone has had problems with their extensions coming loose or breaking.   A friend's extension snapped off last weekend.  The same thing happened to my hornet in the spring.

I haven't but there have been one or two that broke. Once they've been removed, the set screw should have some loctite or nail polish used on it to keep it from coming loose. If they put on with the solid part on top, they would be less likely to break.

Both of the aforementioned extensions had been locktited.  It certainly wasn't from abuse or too much use.  I thought it odd that two would break like that.  Since I'd never heard of it happening before, I wanted to ask around again.  Thanks for the reply.
