I'll be getting a .480Ruger 10" Encore just would like to here how you guys like it.

I sure would like to know that too. Does it have a long throat like the 454 Casull barrel? If it does and the bullets can be seated out that would really be great.
The 454 Casull can accomodate 525 gr bullets seated out and is a real powerhouse for anyone that knows how to work up a load.
The 480 should be great with the 425 gr Cast performance bullet seated out in the third lube groove.

I love my 480 revolver. The best weight I have shot has been the 390-400 grain range. I love the big bore. H110 and Titegroup have been great powders so far.

I hear that the .480's really like the 400gr slugs.I think this round would be a good thick woods bear getter.I should get 150 to 200+fps more out of a Encore than a wheel-gun that should put the 400gr around 1400+fps.

sounds like a fun project, I've got interest in doing the same. I've fired the .480 in the Raging Bull and thought it was entirely manageable in the big ported revolver with the awesome grip. If you have any aversion to recoil, I would avoid this altogether. The .44 Mag with full house 300gr loads in a 10" barrel is unpleasant in my opinion, and this would be much more so. I shoot 1300 fps 300+ gr loads in a .45 Bisley with no problems, but I consider that 10" 44 in a Contender to be brutal. The extra weight of the Encore could be a help. My bet is it's downright brutal with the heavy bullets. Let us know how it goes with this, I'm interested to hear.

Remember that this is coming out of my mouth. (People say I am crazy sometimes) and out of a Super Redhawk 7 1/2"

325 Factory are like shooting 300gr 44 magnums. Whe you get to the 400 they are like a 454, a little slower (not the sharp rap) but still a handful. I won't let most people shoot the handloads that are close to max. It is intresting that the I have notice that the lighter bullets have a sharper quicker recoil when loaded to max at the 375 grain. The SRH has lots of palm action with the push. I tried Pachmyr grips but they had too much muzzle whip vs the factory. No roll stoppage but the trigger guard was covered. The factory grip can smush your middle finger knuckle under the trigger guard. My favorite load is actually Titegroup powder (I think is is 8.5 grains) with a 400 grain bullet. Powerful but yet fun. 420 are not bad because there is not enough powder space to get crazy.

Lots of fun I love it.

I find the 480 much milder then the 454, even the 400 gr seem to me on par with 300 gr 44 loads, a bigger push no doubt, but not as severe as the 454 by a long shot.

You ought to try some 460 gr bullets :-D I only get them going 1050 fps, but they get your attention

I got my 10" .480 Ruger Encore barrel and love it.Shoots good.....groups with factory 325gr XTP's at 50 yards=2" with several three shot groups that ran about 1/2" or one ragged hole.Oh ya, I put a red dot scope on it and I'm not to good with this kind of scope.I'll give it some time and if I don't get any better I'll put a nice 4 power scope on it.
