Are the ULTRA rifles worth the extra cost?

I think so, older Ultras had much nicer metal work besides the lam stocks, not so any more. For current non-fluted models, there's only $40 or less difference in the price and the only way to get the 24" barrel in a .223 or .243 is in an Ultra.

i personally think just the laminated stock is worth it (very nice looking in my opinion)

I agree its worth it. My ultra locks up tighter and looks better than my handi. The trigger pull is a lot better on the ultra too.

IMHO...Yes...they are worth the extra...Everything just seems better...trigger pull weight ..lock up..better laminates..better finish...It's also cheaper to buy it whole now...then to try to buy the better wood later too...
