The big south fork region in mccreary county is probably our best population. Several other counties have populations also but not as good as BSF. Since BSF is run by the national park service their regs are a little different. All season are same as KY's regular season with the exception of hogs. You can hunt hogs during all the big game seasons plus a extended hog season from Jan, thru Feb. Just a hunting license and a 5.00 permit is all you need.
Love them Big Iron's

Thank you gentlemen,
I appreciate the info.  It's tough trying to plan the hunt by just reading the regs!

There are a few hogs on Big South Fork N.R.R.A. but they are on the Tennessee section of the area.  I spend a lot of time in that area and haven't seen any hog sign in probably 3 years.  But the turkey population is good.  The season regulations rule out a joint hog/turkey hunt however.  I have been told there are some hogs around Dale Hollow Lake but have no first hand knowledge of it.  A lot of the information about Big South Fork is dated, in the mid 90's it was infested with hogs but several things happened that resulted in the hogs being virtually eradicated.  Good hunting
