Also I will never buy any PMC ammo after having some of their 6.5x55 which blew the primer out enlarged the pocket and gave way so violently that it broke the firing pin on my Mauser and sent the rear part of the bolt into my glasses denting the metal frame it then glanced off and was picked up about 6 feet behind the firing point. I will never buy their ammo again."

Buying PMC ammo is pretty much a moot point, they're out of business!!

That's about the best news I've heard all day.  PMC made terrible ammo in my opinion.  Their rifle cartridges and buck shot were far insuperior to any of the Remington, Federal, Winchester stuff.   They used very dirty powder and their buckshot was made without a cup for the shot. About the only thing they made that I would buy is the 22lr rimfire stuff.  I love cheap ammo but the pmc stuff was complete garbage.

My Swede is not that sweet and I am trying to get something my 96 likes.
I only hand loaded and thought maybe the problem is with me, so I bought a couple
of different boxes to try. (I still have to go to the range)
I just know my rifle is going to be happy with this
out of business company's ammo!  :(

The ammo loaded in this country, will be pretty anemic due to the Norwegian Krags available in that chambering. The Scandanavian ammo companies load a bit hotter, although even Norma as reduced their velocities from earlier times. I'd stick with the handloads, and would try 129 Hornady's. Although the Swede won't drive them as hard as some other 6.5s they are a fine balance for anything not likely to shoot back.
I had a 96 that wouldn't do better that 4" groups, no matter what ammo I tried. I bedded it, floated it, shortened the barrel, restocked it, and tried a whole lot of handloads, and got nowhere. I even tried varying the seating depth, which usually works on any load, all to no avail. I finally gave it to my least favorite grandson, who ain't a rifle nut. He thinks it's just great, and shoots 156 grain Norma factory.  ::)

sweet6.5:  try Sellier and Bellot's 131 gn 6.5x55 softpoints for hunting or their 140 gn ball for plinking.  Mikey.

Thanks Brithunter - I wil check mine.

Thanks Mikey - I bought some, now I just have to
wait for the weekend. ;D

Just came back from the range  ;D ;D My Swede was just unhappy with the
Win cases. I did everything the same way as Slamfire - except changing the cases
until now. 1 inch with the once fired neck sized Remington's. Just over an inch
with new Norma's - once neck sized I am sure it will be better - all this in a serious wind.
The 131gr S&B just under 2 inches.
The PMC - well - I will use them when I decide to hunt a barn door.
