New CZ 550 stocks
« on: January 22, 2007, 01:23:12 PM »
Has anyone a picture of the new stocks CZ is using in there 550 american safari. CZ e-mailed me that all 2007 stocks from around mid january on would have two crossbolts in the stock. I guess this is the fix for the cracked stocks they were getting with the 458 Lott  and others.

I just got my new 550 Safari in 375 H&H yesterday.  It has what looks like 2 crossbolts...the manual calls them "reinforcers".  First rifle I've had that had 'em, so I'm not up-to-speed on their appearance.  They're flat-headed, flush with the stock, and removed/installed with a spanner wrench.  The heads are about 3/8" in diameter.

Let us know how you like the cz , i am thinking on gettingmone in 458 Lott . All i hjave heard so far is that there a great rifle , that just needs a little polishing of the action and trigger anmd should be bedded before shooting. Keep us informed. Thanks Tanoose

Love my CZ!  Very comfortable rifle.  I've been having issues with it impacting low, but that issue is being addressed...combination of front sight height and shooter error.

Anyway, I finally figured out how to post pics.  I'm such a techno-tard.

I have the single crossbolt 416 Rigby and a 458 WM no problems with any cracks and they both have about 200 full power handloads down the chute.
The only work I did on either was adjust the trigger
