Hardinge Style Lathe
« on: October 17, 2006, 03:23:19 PM »
Hi all!

My Dad has a American Turnmaster Lathe model: ATV-618VS (it is the Hardinge HIGH PRECISION Chucking style)  50 milionths of an inch accuracy.  This machine is only 3 years old, but has been in storage all but a week of it and LIKE BRAND NEW, the company he bought it from had no use for one this small and I do not think they knew what they were buying.

It has a High Precision 6-jaw chuck and 5C collet closure with it.  It also has the Variable Speed option, 4000RPM and when it is cranked up runs VERY smooth, almost so smooth that you can not even tell it is running.  He bought it thinking he would use it for gunsmithing, but decided against it.

Here is a link the the exact machine http://www.lagun.com/products/super-precision/atv-618-tr.html if you would like to read all the specs on it.

Not sure if there is any interest for something like this on here, but just thought I would post it, you can contact me for more information if you have interest and I can get you in contact with my Dad.

Thanks for looking.

Yes, the motor is 3 Phase.  I beleive it has a inverter drive on it though, so if you had a electrician look at it, I think it might be able to rewire it for single phase.
