Depending upon the rate of twist for the rifling & the bullet alloy, what you want to do may or may not work.

Most paper patched bullets work better w/ pure lead or a very low lead to tin alloy, such as 40:1.

From what I've rad 'bout paper patching & talking to Shooter who do paper patch, a .454" dia may very well be too large in dia to work well.

Do you know the twist rate & bore dia?

What is the make of the rifle.
