customizing a raging bull ??
« on: November 01, 2006, 11:15:43 AM »
hello everybody, I asked this question in taurus handgun section with no replys, so I am going to ask it here. Can a Raging Bull bbl be cut down from 8-10" down to 6" then ported. And can the action be tuned and trigger pull be lightened.
I have looked at custom Bowens and Clements, I would love to have a custom 500 Linebaugh, but man the expences are a bit much.
Any ideas on the Raging Bull would be appreciated, I know any work on one would cancel the warranty, but it looks like they are not going to bring out their 6" barrel RB.
 Thanks John

I have no experience with the big Taurus's but would not see a problem. Any snith should be capable of the barrel cut down and send the gun to someone like MagnaPort to have a brake EDM'd into the barrel.. I would bet the flash and blast will be phenominal!!

Gunnut, thanks for the reply, I really could not see a problem doing the bbl job, and action job either, I just wanted to hear from possibly someone who has done this before.
I have shot the 500 S&W 4" a few times, the recoil or blast is not near as much as most people would think. This one belongs to a friend, and i can't get him to reload. Each to their own I guess.
I had a S&W 629, it may have just been a lemon, but I certainly won't have another S&W anything.
