Peak pressure and bullet movement
« on: November 08, 2006, 06:58:11 AM »
Does a bullet leave the cylinder and jump the gap to the barrel before the peak pressure is reached?

I saw a graph yesterday showing the pressure curve and bullet movement of a 30-06.  The bullet started moving
a fraction of a millisecond before the peak was reached.  The graph showed time and not distance and I don't
know how fast the bullet accelerates.

Does anyone know?
