Winchester 777 209 primers and 777 pellets

Some folks seem to experience greater instances of misfires using pellets vs. loose powder.

Just curious what anyone's experiences have been using the new 777 primers from Winchester with 777 pellets.

Any misfires? Any noticeable difference regarding "crud ring" accumulation or accuracy as compared to what you used before?

My experience is very limited.  I have only owned my TC Encore for a few weeks.  I started out using 777 pellets and 777 primers by winchester and TC shockwave 250 grn bullets.  I fired 15 shots to sight in.  I swabbed in between each shot with a patch soaked with Rusty Duck solvent followed by a dry patch.  No crud ring to speak of and very accurate using both 2 and 3 pellet loads.

Crud ring does diminish - but since breechplug designs are all different, you really need to experiment in order to find the correct answer to your question. Yes... the new primers are worth the $5 investment - because in a majority of bores, they work just fine with pellets. The 2nd/3rd best controller of crud rings is a bore brush and a dry bore... meaning no lubes, oils or harsh solvents inside that bore when firing. Swab with big patches and Windex.

I have had an omega for 5 years and have only shot 777 pellets (3)  and used standard 209 primers and I have never had a miss fire.  My brother who also owns one and shoot pellets have never had a problem.  Just my 2 cents
