I had the custom shop put one on my 300 winny. It did make a difference but not enough to really matter

If you want an effective muzzle brake, check out E. Arthur Brown www.eabco.com

They make an OPS Tactical brake that reduces recoil by up to 70%.  I had it put on a 30-06 AI.  I went through 40 rounds and stopped shooting only because I ran out of ammo.  It kicked about the same as my .223 Contender carbine!

In my not so humble opinion...I love the T/C muzzle tamer and have them on all my .30 caliber and heavier barrels. I can shoot my 375 H&H next to a 308 BOSS and the BOSS is way more "louder" than mine. I find the muzzletamer gives me greater control and confidence in handling the firearm. I also have them on my pistol barrels. It turns the barrel into a pussy cat... 8) I have to be careful that the side ways discharge of the gases does not blow my spotting scope off the bench.  ;D
