Marlin 1895 Synthetic Stock????

I have been searching for a synthetic/composite stock for a Marlin 1895 Guide Gun.  I have seen the Wild West Guns option but they are a bit spendy ...

Does anyone know of another option????   ???

Here is your best option.  SPray on bedliner.  I did my guide gun 3 years ago now and it has held  up like a champ.  You have to completely remove the factory finish and then seal all the inside of the wood good with a quality sealer, then get the spray on bedliner, I used the duplicolor brand black to do my stock.  Do several light coats to get an even coating.  It is as durable a finish as I have ever seen, its holded up to numerous trips on the 4 wheeler with branches bouncing off it.   Totally cost will be about 10 bucks and a few hours of your time.  If it has held up this well thru three alaskan hunting seasons, read constantly wet, then it will hold up anywhere.

Thanks for the tip ... but was kinda hoping for a true synthetic option that is a bit more feasible than the WWG option is for now ...

Seems like I am always looking for things that are just outside of the norm ...

YOu can get the WWG stock unfinished for around 250.

And I have been lusting after your rifle for these three long years. ;D  Your rifle gave me the idea to guide gun my old .35 Rem.  I have bought all the stuff and can recrown myself.  I am just waiting on retirement in two months.  YES!!!

What will it be like unfinished???  Like a generic remington/winchester/other composite stock?

Here's another option from MPI STOCKS. They sell just the blank, "drop in" prefinished, or will custom re-stock your action in their shop...your choice! I've seen their finished product & it is top shelf.

It will need to be beddied and painted.  Probably some finish work to get the fit just right.

HMT:  You're in luck . . .

At oh-dark-thirty this AM while I waited for my brother to go deer hunting, I was browsing the Natchez Shooters Supplies sale flyer for November which just came yesterday, and there it was on page 73 (my brother was late -- had lots of time to get that far into it...).

Outers sells a "Cadet" 2-piece black syn-tech stock for the Marlin 336 in .30-30.  (Contact Natchez at www.natchezss.com or 800-251-7839)  The regular price is $63.10 and the sale price is a LOW $38.37.  But check the description of item #F10OU33608, as the logo says "Cadet Stocks Designed to Fit Smaller Statures".  Maybe a recoil pad will add length if needed, or with heavy clothes, maybe the fit will be fine.

Now...  If you could just find me a Marlin 336 "Cowboy" (24" tapered octagon barrel, with straight grip) in .30-30 or .38-55, we'll be even!!!  That search is what lead me to this page...  I'll pay for it -- just help find me one!   ;D

Just noticed you wanted a stock for the 1895 Guide Gun -- not sure if the 336 stock can be made to fit, but maybe a call to Outers could answer that for ya.

Oh well, I struck out at this post AND deer huntin'...  ???

What no Marlin wishlist? this is one thing i wish marlin would do, i wish the XLR and guide guns came in a top quality synthetic stocks also. I amy friend loves the guide gun but not with the straight stock , Marlin said they could convert it to a pistol grip stock but the cost is $225.00 I myself would also like to see the XLR with a walnut stock with out the checkering.Maybe we all should send marlin our own wish list , i am.
