Marlin 60 trigger
« on: November 05, 2006, 01:57:30 PM »
My 60 trigger has a ton of over travel. I think thats what you call it. Anyway I have to pull the trigger back some before I can squeeze a round off.

What can be done to fix this? Is there a screw or something I can adjust?

thanks

I think what you are referring to is called creep, i.e, initial trigger travel before let off. Trigger travel after release is overtravel. At least that's what I've been led to believe.
Here's a pic of the screw I added to limit overtravel in my model 60's.  You need to be conservative in installing and adjusting screws in the trigger guard because the model 60 trigger's position relative to the action isn't as precise as in rifles where the trigger is attached directly to the action.
