I've built several Traditions kits, as well as a couple Lyman and Investarms. The Traditions kits are usually pretty well fitted, but you have a lot of hand work to do. The brass is as-cast and needs to be sanded and polished, which is pretty easy. The wood sometimes needs a little final fitting, or perhaps a screw hole relocated. That's no biggy, you just glue a toothpick in the old hole, cut it flush with the wood and drill the new hole. The stock itself needs some final shaping, as they're usually rough shaped, but again, that's easy enough to do also.
Your first kit always seems like a major undertaking and can be confusing. Just have patience and don't rush it. If you get stuck somewhere, ask others who have built them for advice. When you finish it, you'll realize that it really wasn't all that hard. You'll have more confidence and might want to build others. I love building them!
Traditions guns are good guns and shoot very well. Being so well fitted, they make a great first kit, also.
