Hi Folks,
This is my first post to this forum. I just recently purchased a Encore Handgun Frame in stainless. I ordered a Fox Ridge Custom Shop Heavy 15" barrel in 308 Win for handgun hunting elk here in Colorado for next year. I also purchased a Pro Hunter barrel in 243 Win for Antelope and Whitetail hunting on the plains. I have been hunting with bolt action guns my whole life but something just caught me with this Encore. Yes it is an addiction and my wife hates it. I'm putting a Burris handgun 3x7x32 on the pistol and a Burris 4.5x14x44 on the rifle. I look forward to getting a lot of information from this site.
I did put a Mike Bellum #2 spring in for the trigger and a 51# hammer spring since I will be using a hammer extention. My neighbor who has the same setup only with a .223 barrel was get 25%-35% misfires on new factory ammo. He put the 51# pound hammer spring in and has had no misfires in over 500 rounds. TC's fix is to not use a hammer extention but you need to using some low mounted scopes. The #2 springs gives a 2-1/2 to 3 pound pull. Much nicer than the factory pull but not too light for hunting. Sorry for rambling on just wanted to say high.
