I think if ya got your string waxed like it should be it should repel water. I think hunting in the rain is a iffy call depending on how hard it is raining. light rain you should be able to track a deer but if it is raining hard I would wait for a better day. Snow you should be able to track ok. If it gets wet just dry it off good when you get home and lube it well.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I don't really like hunting in the rain, but I have been caught in the rain a few times and I have always waxed the string and wiped the metal parts of the xbow with WD40 before going to my stand or blind and had no troubles. Same for hunting in the snow.
I carry a pack of cherry flavored cough drops in my day pack.

I think your right Jim, but that can still be a problem I've found.

Spell check got me again  ;D,

I do not really like hunting in a rain but have and I have more then once got caught in a sudden rain shower.

Will normal bowstring wax work?  I still have over 3/4 of a stick. I do not care for WD-40 in its place I use EEZOX

Yea a cough in the woods can be a problem. Yea regular bowstring wax should work fine. The only difference I have seen from that and the wax that Excalber sells for their strings is that the excaliber wax is a bit stiffer not as soft. Both wax the string just fine.

I've used mine a number of times in the light rain/drizzle and snow. No difference in performance, its just a PITA. I wouldn't try it in heavy rain, and of course windy conditions in these storms would ruin your POI too.
