New barrel question...
«

On the H&R site it says I can get the 30-06 barrel for $85.00. I realize there will shipping and tax but are there any other charges that I'll have to pay to get this barrel?
I've got the 45-70 now and I want to start adding barrels and scopes instead of spending so much on completely new rifles. They're definitely a lot less expensive than the Steyr and Savage 25-06's that I have.

As Knight said, there's a $15 fitting fee, there are also restrictions on fitting any high pressure barrels which the .30-06 is, any of the asterisked barrels on the accessory barrel list can't be fitted to frames made before 1999, details of build year are in the FAQ and Help sticky.

Thanks for the replies. I just bought the 45-70 last week, it's the Handi SB2 and should work with the 30-06 barrel, according to the H&R site.

I just sent one in last week. $85 for the barrel, $15 s & h, and $10 fitting fee, $110 total. Cost me $13 to mail it priority insured.
