Mag Tech Brass...........
« on: December 03, 2006, 05:21:22 PM »
I am about to make a brass purchase and noticed that a few dealers have Mag tech brass cases(45 Colt and 454 Casull) and was wondering if anyone has any experience with Mag Tech. Is the brass any good, how does it stand up to reloading etc, etc. As you can see from the calibers it won't be used as a benchrest round. Thanks for any info.

Oddly enough, it's actually pretty decent stuff, IMHO.

Dunno about today but at one time folks were having problems with the Mag tech in Ruger and Taurus .454 revolvers. The Hornady ammo would stick almost every time in both and so did the Magtech in a lot of them. The issue might be resolved by now, just not sure.

I've found Starline to be the top of the line really and in .454 Casull have never heard any complaints on Winchester brass either. If you use a Freedom Arms it don't matter, they all work fine in it. Other than in .454 Casull I'm aware of no problems with either Hornady or Magtech brass.

I have shot Magtech in both my .44 Deerfield and my aggravating .44 Handi and have reloaded the cases many times and have not worn one out yet.
