I have a Marlin 336W with a 3-9X32 scope on it and due to its relatively quick ability for follow up shots, I would like to use it this winter on coyote drives. The group I hunt with usually consists of people armed with mini 14s or AR-15 style rifles but I have neither the money nor the ambition to purchase one of those. What bullet, relaod or factory, would you recommend? Most shots are under 100 yards but most time the shots are at a running coyote when and if the background allows. So you can see why I would want a faster handling rifle than my bolt action Savage .243 that I normally lug around. Also, the Marlin with the scope on a low power would make it easier to navigate through the thick cover when it is my turn to play "bird dog."
Also, I have a RCBS Rockchucker and a set of Lee dies for the .30/30 but I can't get them to size right. I think I read somewhere that the arm in my press may not work with Lee dies becasue of the motion of the arm. I am not sure but I think I read that on Lee's website. Anyone have any input in this regard?
