Aguila Pistol Match ammo

I tried some Aguila .22 lr pistol match ammo today in the Remington 541. With the first group I was reminded how bad .22 ammo can shoot if you have shot another type of ammo and not cleaned the barrel. I knew this can happen so I fired 5 shots (apparently 5 was not enough)  into the 100 yd backstop offhand and then started shooting groups at 50 yds. The first group went all over the place but the last few shots started to tighten up a bit so I shot a three more groups. All groups had flyers but it seemed to be mostly horizontal so part of it could have been the wind. One group had three shots in about .187" center to center but it had two flyers. This ammo needs further testing when the wind is calm. The ammo looks to be kind of dirty though leaving a lot of powder fouling in the barrel.
Anyone else tried this ammo?

How very interesting! I have been using the SE standard velocity lead Aguilas in my target pistol and the stuff is great.  Every bit as good as Eley. Very reliable and accurate.

Are these bullets the kind that are covered with a thick coat of soft waxy stuff?  I had terrible results with that kind of ammo in one of my pistols.  It was Eley Red (the $11 per box of 50 stuff). I was getting 3.5" groups at 25 yards. The best ammo was giving me 5/8" groups at the same distance.

No the lube on this load is not the thick wax type.  I have had some loads with this kind of lube to shoot real well in the 541 but I prefer the more dry type lube. The gun shoots well with certain loads with each type though.

I shot four more groups today while the wind was a little more calm. The results were fairly consistant. All groups had some tight three or four shot clusters with one or two shots opening it up a little. Over all not bad though. The four group avg. was .590" with a low of .526" and a high of .645". Not bad for $2.39 a box.
