Who all has had a trigger job done on their encore?
« on: November 13, 2006, 04:30:44 AM »
I've heard people say good things about trigger jobs on their encore rifles.  I've kicked around the idea but I'd like to hear from those who have had it done before I spend the cash.  Does the trigger job make much difference or is it just very small?

I have one and FOR ME it reduced my groups by about 1/2. I did my own and got the lighter trigger spring. LOVE IT!

Teddy,
While I don't consider Encore trigggers to be too bad to start out with, I personally like mine crisper and under 3# for general use.  I sent both my Encores to SSK (a GBO sponsor)and am very pleased with the results.  As far as what the difference might be - that's pretty much up to you to specify to whomever does the trigger job for you.  Do you know what you have now - and what pull weight you would like it to be?  Talk it over with whomever you want to do your trgigger job. Good luck!

Sent mine to www.SSK industries. got it back in a week and it was as crispy smooth 2.7lbs. Also had a SRH and SBH done with similar results. I would recommend them in a heart beat.

I too sent my out to SSKindustries...4-frames total. Great job and they will warrant the job. Never shot anything before other than factory settings. The lighter setting helps me to control the expectant recoil and improve accuracy. My first elk was taken with the 30-06 pistol setup...as I was telling myself to "squeeze the trigger" I only got part way through the word  "squeeze..." and the animal was down. Highly recommended.  :)

I had Mike Bellm do my trigger jobs on my Encores.  I have my frame set at 1.5# and my son's set at 2#.  For me, the trigger makes the gun, and my Encore is the ultimate.
