romanian wasr

i was wanting to know if any of you have any knowledge about the wasr 5.45x39 ak style gun on aimsurplus.i have never seen this caliber was wanting some info about how this caliber shoots and ballistics and any info abot the rifle itself any help would be appreciated

The round in question is a pretty formidable combat round. When the Russians brought them to Afghanistan They were very much feared because of the terrible wounds they caused. The Communist bloc left it alone when they achieved the desired result of a tumbling projectile on impact. Unlike our M-16 with 5.56x45 rounds that used to make a pretty decent wound too.
now it zips through leaving a .22 caliber hole on both sides and causing a whole lot less damage.
I am sure that Our troops are facing these rounds in Afghanistan because the Rooskies left Massive weapons caches behind when they fled the country.
