Just wondering if anyone has tried the barnes 80gr tipped TSX bullets?  I picked up a box yesterday to try in my .25-06 and am waiting on barnes to reply to my email with load data, but was wanting to know if any of yall had tried them and what you thought.  Thanks Kris

I don't shoot those Barns bullets. They put to much copper in my barrel.

The old ones did in mine, the newer TSX bullets do not.

I am very pleased with the 100g TTSX in my .257 Roberts.  No need or desire to go lighter.

I have an old Japanese Arisaka rifle with a twist rate of 12:1 in .257 Roberts. A nice looking rifle. I had to drop down to 80 grain Barnes bullets because of the slow twist rate. They shoot pretty well with some 3/4" three shot groups. Still playing with the seating depths and trying different powders but the bullets are fine. I use 85 grain non-tipped TSX pellets in my .243. Very accurate. Dropped a Blacktail with them last year. I'm in the Republik od Kalifornistan and we have to develop non-lead loads.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.

The 80 grain is sort of an odd weight bullet for hunting in the 25 cal. Hornady makes an accurate 75 grain varmit bullet and most shooters in my group use the 100 grain for hunting. I would possibly pick it if I was shooting a more limited in terms of powder capacity cartridge than the 25:06.
