300 h&h magnum

Ihave a winchester model 70 300 H&H magnum.  Was wondering what type of loads work for this gun in factory loads and hand loading.

Federal still makes ammo 180gr Noler Part. and Winchester

Indeed. You scored on this one. The Pre-'64 M70, which yours is, is among the finest rifles you will ever find. And the .300H&H is still among the most effective of the .300 magnums. If for some reason you want more juice you might consider is rechambering it to .300 Weatherby Magnum. You can still shoot H&H ammo, and to my mind those are the two best .30 caliber magnums available.

I also have a w-70 in 300 H&H.

Excellent shooter. To be on the safe side; if you don't know the rifle history; have the chamber slugged to confirm 300 H&H. Lots of conversions out there.

Currently I'm on the road.
My rifle has a s/n starting with a G . That is  a post 64 number.

When I get back home I'll check my load book & see exactly what I shoot.
Usually 180 gr @ 3020. It's good medicine!
