For any member of this site to come to another forum and tell me that i do not support our troops because i do not post in this forum , that just flat pisses me off .

 I have taken up a weapon and stood the wall , for the very freedom that gives you the right to have your say , my oldest son has also taken up a weapon to give all of us the freedoms that we take for granted every day .

You have the right to your voice , but please DO NOT try to tell me that i do not support our troops .

I don't see why this generation of troops should be treated any differently than all the ones before us or those that will follow in our footsteps.  To say "support the troops that are in the military RIGHT NOW" would come across as a slap in the face if I were already amongst those of you that already served your country.

One good thing about the military family is that we never forget those that served before us.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are great holidays, but I have never felt thankful than the couple of times our unit makes the trip to talk to the WWII vets at the VA Hospital.  Wonder how many folks even REMEMBER those guys??

His idea was good, his execution wasn't. Had it been worded more along the lines of "hey we've got this new forum set up how about dropping by and helping out" well it might have brought in some support and not gotten so many folks mad.

But in the long run it really doesn't matter. Bottom line is that folks at GBO just plain have no interest in showing out troops their appreciation for what they do by taking them out for a hunt or fishing trip. Such is life. I said up front it would be that way.

I don't think there is no interrest, I just don't think most folks have the means to do it.  I have a lease, and I've taken a couple of my buddies out, but I can't advertise an opportunity on the forum.

SSumner just came across like those ranting lunatics ringing that stupid bell in front of the stores this time of year..... sure we support them with donations throughout the year...but sometimes we just wish they would SHUT UP and stop telling us we need to give more.

Our Troops are GIVING and have Given THEIR LIVES man !!!!
How dare any one ask a little more of US !

Any local Recruiter should be able to tell you where it can be sent !

What part of I AM A SOLDIER are you not getting???

We support our own.  Anything extra is NICE...BUT NOT REQUIRED.

I DO SEND PACKAGES TO TROOPS....I AM IN CONTACT WITH TROOPS I HAVE TRAINED OR HAVE WORKED WITH EVERY DAY.....

When I get letters saying how much the soldiers IN THE FIELD do not have !!!
Something as simple as Handi wipes or eye drops !
And things they really miss having !
Such as spices or hot sauce for their food !
One requested blank Biirthday cards to send to their children back home
because they can not get them !!!!
No way Fella' will I get off of my soapbox !!!!
It may be a PULL-PIT before I AM THROUGH !
I have no Idea how you can even want me to stop if you are a soldier !!!
You of all people should want to get involved as much as me !!!
If what I type bothers you.... You surely have the right not to read it !!!
If you ARE supporting the troops ? It was not really aimed at you in the first place !
The ones I am referring to know who they are.
