M1917
« on: November 15, 2006, 03:55:20 AM »
Local gun shop has a sporterized M17 - shop is asking about $300 or so.  Barrel is cut back, sporter stock, ears ground off.  Can't yet tell if it's Winchester or Eddystone made, yet.  Trying to make up for a stolen M17 with an original 3/18 barrel stamp.  Should I add yet another 06 to the battery I rarely shoot, or let it go???

Whatcha all say?????????????  Mikey.

My opinion is let it go for $300.00
Way overprice for a chopped up Milsurp.
Offer about $125.00 for it and watch his face.
I would give no more than that for it.

It was a questionable buy reading your post about it, so maybe it's good that you didn't get it. If you're like me, when you pick a rifle up and look it over some, you know almost immediately if it's what you want to take home with you.  :D
