There were several grip sizes made for the small frame DW's (22lr-357mag).  There were factory walnut small round grips, small square grips, large smooth grips and large grips with checkered panels. That does not even take into account after-market grips by Hogue and Pachmayer.   That is one feature of the Dan Wesson revolvers that many overlook, the fact that you can not only change barrels, but you can have virtually any grip contour you can imagine.  Ruger began to use this feature on some of its guns.  Thompson/Center uses a similar system on their conteneders and encores.  It really is a great feature.  If you want larger grips, you can still get them from the factory or off online auction sites.
