1894 CB Competition

I have been away from this forum for almost 1.5 years because of health issues and a computer that crashed. Forgive me if I seem very uninformed but I cannot seem to find on the internet any answers I am looking for.

In Sept of 2003, I bought a new Marlin 1894 CB Competition in .45 colt. It has been my favorite firearm since. I now see where Marlin no longer offers the "Competition" and my first question is what happened? Did they not have enough demand for this model? It was a bit pricey but since I love lever actions and the .45 colt is my favorite caliber, it was an easy decision for me.

If they no longer are offering this model, where could I possibly find another one to purchase for my son? What kind of money should I expect to pay if one is located?

They probably quite simply because of production run.  It appears that they have quit making the 1895 CB in 45-70 as well.  The whys and what fors is a question only they can answer.  Personally I think the CB models look a heck of alot better than the regular 1895 22" or 18.5" Guide Gun models.

Thanks for your opinion. Corporate decisions are sometimes based on information available only to the "chiefs in charge." I have really enjoyed my CBC in .45 lc and so has everyone else who has been with me at the range or on a trip. Almost everyone has said it is the most "fun" they have had shooting a firearm. The CBC was more of an investment than other lever actions but the return has been great. Maybe with some luck, I'll find another on an auction or at a gunshop some day. I have always wanted an 1895 CB 45/70 too.

If the product was making money it would be made.  Most likely it was costing to much to keep a relatively small production model in the mix.  Sometimes things are kept out of sentiment, but most of the time any more products need to justify their existence.  So if you see something you want you better go for it because there isn't a guarantee of tomorrow.
