Persuit
« on: August 14, 2006, 03:42:00 PM »
At the risk of starting a war, my daughters boyfriend bought her a traidtions persuit Lt for her birthday.  We took it to the range tonight with a 3x9x40 scope on it. 100 grains of loose triple 7 ffg and a 250 grain shockwave and it shot very well. This is my daughters first year to hunt deer and I look forward to seeing her harvest one with this gun. I understand it is a spanish barrel and all that has been said about them, so please do not turn this into a the gun will blow up thread. I just got a sidekick for her to use but since the boyfriend got her this one you know which one she will be using. As long as she has fun and really enjoys being in the woods who cares.

I have 2 Traditions guns, accuracy or blown barrels were never their problem.  Both shot very accurately, the quality was just poor so I upgraded.  I just got tired of the time it took to disassemble and clean the bolt on the Lightning.  Good luck and enjoy the hunt.

I have a CVA Firebolt that I used for years, I have upgraded since and I do not use it that much anymore, but during it's day it served the purpose just fine.

One thing I might add, with all the flack those companies were taking they did become more aware of the the percieved barrel problem and did take some steps to alleviate the uproar.

Shoot the heck out of it and have fun - stay with in the guidelines and always use caution when shooting any ML no matter whoose it is...

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

It was a good choice for her since she is a lefty shooter.  I hope she tries it and prefers the sidekick. But with the ramrod and breech plug I think the persuit will be more user friendly for her

well she got out today to shoot it. 85 grains of triple 7 loose and a 240 grain lead bullet I mold myself round nose. At 75 yards she shot it better then I do. For a relatively cheap gun this thing can shoot and easy to do maintenance on. She is happy and I have a sidekick lol, so I am also. This group kept her at about an inch at 75 yards. Like I have said my daughter is a shooter and this gun matches her well.

Nice shooting. Hope she does well. It's nice to see a father and daughter hunt together.

the persuit did its job tonight. Regular season has started here in the northern Zone of NY. My daughter prefers to hunt with the muzzleloader over her grandmothers wincherste pre64 30-30, so she had it. I was lucky enough to get a doe permit for our area, so I signed it over to her. We sat in the 2 person ladder stand tonight over looking a clover field. At about 530 she took a nice doe with the persuit. I hope this is one of many. She can still hunt and use her buck tag and so can I tomorrow night will be backstraps and fried potatoes

Sorry for the late response !!!!

 I love my Pursuit pro.

Had a few bugs to work out but now its a nail driver!!!

I love the way it feels when I pull it up to my cheek.

My son has a CVA  Optima that he loves but I do not like the feel .

Congratulation to you daughter on the deer !!!!!!!!
