GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
« on: November 18, 2005, 05:52:15 AM »
Truck in the shop been there for a week. In all fairness they ordered a used sender for the fuel pump and putting in a new pump so they had to wait for the sender. They did this( used part)  to save me money which I appreciate since I am on a fixed income. Called this morning and they are trying to get at it they said call back at 3:30 it seems a guy quit so they are shorthanded.  :x  Just my luck. I cannot blame the shop they are treating me well and they made arrangements for me to pay in installments so I cannot complain with them I just hope it is done today or I will miss at least tomorrow morning maybe the whole day and if that is the case then it will not get fixed until Mon. I think they will try to get it done so I can get it tonite I hope. It will be easy on them I had changed the pump once before and I did not want to drop the tank so I made a inspection plate above the tank since the truck is a old rust bucket anyway. I would not have done that if the body was decent but it is not. So changing it should be a breeze for them as soon as they get to it. Here's hoping they get R done or I will be sitting at home tomorrow

Jim, you do not know how coincidental this thread of yours is. I am typing this post from a crystler dealer customer center kiosk. I have truck troubles too. They are looking at it as I write. Electronics/fuel related. Piece of crap Dodge trucks :x  About half way to hunting grounds and it died.

They say it wont be too long, so we'll see. No matter what, I see a few beers in the near future for me

Good luck tho

379, let me guess.

Dead pedal/no power. Lift pump/injection pump. Assuming a Cummins motor. Engine code 3198 I think. (there is a companion code but I don't remember it off-hand)

Let us know of your results at the dealer.

When the lift/transfer pump goes the injection pump is soon to follow.

Hope it gets resolved soon.

Well Truck still not done maybe tomorrow             Not really his fault he had some one quit so they are one short so I just have to wait to get it done. Since they usually are a week or two ahead with vehicles scheduled they are doing their best to fit me in anyway. My first year of hunting was 1964. I hunted with out missing a season until 1975/ 1976 when I come back from Washington State so I missed two seasons there and have hunted ever since with out missing so that is a 29 year streak that has ended due to car problems. Oh well it could be worse at least it is not medical problems.   Still it irks me I am missing opening day.  Maybe if I am lucky I can get a half a day in if they get it done in the morning I sure hope so.

Here I sit with fingers on the keyboard instead of a gun in my hands in the great outdoors.  I sure hope they get to the truck this morning. Speaking of the truck the fuel pump sender they are putting in is used cost 80 bucks. Now I checked on a new one just for grins yesterday incase this one did not work. Scratch that if it does not work they will have to find a other and I will still be waiting. A new Sending Unit is a 20 dollar bill shy of 400 bucks.    What BS as there is not that much too it a switch and some metal tubes and a wireing harness and a bracket that holds the fuel pump. Talk about a rip off.        That really struck me as most GM products or aftermarket parts are normally cheaper than Ford or Chrysler or the imports.

Good lord don't even mention that ;) I got two deer in the freezer already a fork buck that was given to me thanks to the City eradication hunt that you can sign up for deer and  a nub buck  I shot with my xbow during archery season. They have a city eradication hunt that you can sign up for Venison so I did I figured why not a free deer works for me in case my luck goes south. So since there is meat in the freezer I am going out tomorrow but not early will hunt in the afternoon. Speaking of trucks went yesterday and had a tire fixed and had the rest checked to make sure they were all ok.  The deer have not been moving that well during the mornings and yea I know hunters will get them moving, But I still prefer to go in the afternoon. If I did not get one already with my xbow I may feel a bit more gung ho but I have a long time to hunt yet with the muzzle loader season and the T zone after that  and still more xbow hunting so I feel I do not have to push it. As long as I can get out during the opener I will be happy. Good luck every one and 379 P Ya kinda threw me with this old post coming back up. LOL
