Tiger stripe stock for Handi Rifle?

Was at a gun shop this weekend and they had a new Handi in 30-30.

It had the most beautiful tiger stripe stock on it. Is this something new? What wood could it have been?

Anyone have pics of theirs?

Some Handis have fiddleback or tiger striped stocks, there's a .204 Ruger Handi with such a stock at the local BiMart right now, there have also been special edition Handis with such stock with checkering sold in the past. Buy em if you can!! I got a set on ebay a while back.

Fred, I thought I was lucky to have got this set for $81 shipped on ebay, I can't even buy a checkered laminated set from H&R for that, so I'll be keeping mine too, sorry!

where are they coming from?  Special order from factory, or a third party maker?

Mine have the identical checkering pattern of the H&R Ultras, so my guess is they were made by H&R for special editions at one time or another.

mine came from the old H&R .nef site they had before graybeard, one of the guys had it for sale, think igive 50 bucks for it and they used a thin recoil pad too? so i wonder if the maybe  from the 22mag ultras??

Keep an eye on Mac1170, in a thread about his new .270, he seemed to be hinting at having something up his sleeve in this regard. Semi-custom stocks? Somebody setting something up? Don't know what he has going, and curiosity is killing me. No telling with Mac of course ! Anybody heard anything lately?
