22/250 1-12 twist question.

I have a Savage 12 FV with a 1-12 twist. How heavy of a slug can I use and still shoot accurately.

Anyone have a heavy load that has worked for you with a 1-12 twist?

Michael a friend shoots a 60 grainer with good accuracy.
I think a 69 would give you a problem, they need a 7-10 trist.

It depends on the length of bullet, not the weight. According to greenhill's formula, a 0.224 dia. barrel with a 1 turn in 12" twist will stabilize a bullet 0.63" long. Greenhill is often a conservative estimate.
