Where do liberal judges come from?

On the Supreme Court, republicans appointed 7 of the 9 Justices.

Of the current 1267 sitting federal judges in all courts, republicans appointed 741 and democrats appointed 526.

George W. Bush R...205 appointments, senate majority (R since beginning of term, 06 till the end of his term?)
Bill Clinton D...350 appointments, senate majority (91-95 D, 95 to end of term R)
George H.W. Bush R...167 appointments, senate majority D
Ronald Reagan R...273 appointments, senate majority (79-81 D, 81-87 R, last year in office R)
Jimmy Carter D...142 appointments, senate majority D
Gerald Ford R...25 appointments, senate majority D
Richard Nixon R...71 appointments, senate majority D
Lyndon Johnson D...28 appointments, senate majority D
John F. Kennedy D ...6 appointments, senate majority D

No doubt presidents who made appoints when their party did not control the senate have had to make compromises selections.  Still to believe that liberals are controlling the courts is not a valid assumption, unless of course, one does not know whom they voted for, or they believe that the Republican Party is liberal.

It only takes one liberaljudge in the"wrong place" to set aside a law on the grounds of interpretation and then you have a mess to straighten out.

I would rather have had the data on appointments to the federal bench from a government source, but was unable to find one, and the author did not provide one.  I did go to, http://www.uscourts.gov/courtlinks/, and checked some of the justice biographies, but in the end took the info in the San Francisco Chronicle, as to verify all was a too time consuming.

The problem is that there shouldn't be "Republican" or "Democrat" judges, there should only be "Constitutionalist" ones, and mostly Originalists, since some opinions are based on what I would consider bad precedent.
