      My boys and I just got back from the Kiabab plateau in North Arizona. They were drawn for a Juniors only antlerless hunt. Both boys connected on Sunday! Boy are they happy. My 13 year old son shot a smallish mulie doe with the 7-30 carbine at about 50 yards. He was shooting my handloads with 120 grain Triple Shock bullets. I can't imagine there would be more destruction with the 120 grain ballistic tips. Lung chunks were blown out the other side and there was a exit hole the size of a half dollar. I was impressed! Sorry no pictures yet I need to get my film developed. The 7-30 is a awesome round in a Contender Carbine it is light as a feather yet hits hard out quite a long ways out. ( I realize that this was not a long shot but I would feel confident shooting out to 300 yards with this combination)

Agree! Only my G2 carbine has a custom Reeder 20" bull barrel chambered in 7 GNR. Just a little more speed. I use the 120 Grain Nosler BT. Dropped a nice buck with it last sunday. Made a nice one inch blow in vitals/rib cage with a nice exit hole. Lite weight, no recoil, easy to handle, and packs a punch. Shoots one hole groups @100 yards all day long. Hooked!

Congrats to your boys! I'll hopfully be shooting my Encore up in Unit 1E the first of Dec.
