I have two .44 mags that I hunt with, one scoped, one not. The 300-gr Federal CastCores are the most accurate loads I have ever fired out of these two guns. I wouldn't go hunting without 'em. Now the 180-gr .357s are a different story. Didn't get the same results out of my 6" .357, but since I hunt with the .44s and a .41 now, I haven't really worried about it. But again, I sure do love those 300-gr .44s!

I have never hunted with them but I can tell you out of a 6 inch Python those 180 Cast Cores sure penetrate.

They are a FederalŪ factory load; designed specifically for deep penetration in hunting applications.

Better? Not really, just as good for sure and with them you get a bit wider selection of bullet choices. You can also toss in Buffalo Bore. They are as good as any and have a wide selection to choose from but like the others prices are high.
