Official Silhouette Bases /feet for smallbore rifle.
« on: November 20, 2006, 01:22:05 AM »
Dear Memebers,

Can anyone tell me if smallbore RAM silhouettes with a complete steel base are allowed to be used in an official smallbore silhouette competition as these are the type our club have and want to clarify it.

The RAM bases are one solid piece of steel and are slightly bigger than 2 inches long and more than 1 inch in width.  Will we need to cut these or if everyone is shooting the exact same type of RAM on a plinth made to the same measurements as the solid base of the RAMS will this be classed as OK by the NRA rules.

The other animals have solid bases also but if we made plinths to the same size of those will this suffice also.

hope to hear your views on this.

regards

maver.

Here's the best web site I've found that shows full size pictures of NRA Smallbore targets. I hope you can determine the answer to your question from it.

Central Florida Rifle and Pistol Club have the NRA rules posted on their website.

http://www.cfrpc.com/Smallbore/Silhouette%20Rules.PDF

Looks like they need to be two piece, 1" wide x 2" long each.

Best to check the latest NRA rule book.

cheers,
Sean
