Bushy varminter two stage trigger help
« on: February 02, 2007, 07:04:10 AM »
My son recently brought me a Bushmaster Varminter and said "Here you can use this."  It is in good shape and shoots very accurately.  But I don't understand the two stage trigger.  I expected to "feel" that it was at the second stage and was going to fire at the next pressure from the trigger finger.
Instead it just seems to have a rather long pull with no indication of a second stage.
This is a used gun.
Is something wrong. does it need lubricating,  or are my expectations wrong?
I have done some searching here and also looked at the Bushmaster site, but nothing helped.
Thanks. ???

You are correct. You should feel a slight increase in trigger resistance as you reach the second stage. Either the trigger is defective, misadjusted, or has been replaced with a single stage.
