I actually think the 45LC might be a fun little round to play around with. Might make a fine deer round for a kid out to say 75-80 yards. Will make a big hole for sure! The factory ammo offerings are plenty and not too overpriced either. Handloasd on the light side for plinking should be really cheap per round and, it is a 45 cal weapon after all.
How much cost and trouble would be involved in changing this one to the 460 S&W? After a few hundred rounds of LC the 460 S&W would be an option.

The .45 Colt would be .451 or .452.  The .45-70 uses a .457 bullet I believe.  It's a shame they don't offer the BC in a "carbine" version with a 26" barrel.  It's just too long and heavy for the .45 Colt IMO.  Personally I don't believe the Handi can handle the .454 Casull or the .460 S&W or they would have done it already.  I could be wrong.

Amos, You're welcome!!! Sorry, I don't know when it will be available, but since Sports South lists it already, I'd hope it will be early next year as a rifle, accessory barrels usually follow the rifle's release by a month or 2.

Lik2hunt and Swampman, I don't know what the 460S&W's SAAAMI Map is, but the G&A link below says it's 65kpsi, 5kpsi more than the 500S&W, which makes the .500S&W 60kpsi, but all the load data I've see shows a max pressure of about 52kpsi, so I don't know what's up with the 8kpsi difference. None of  the new cartridges are listed in the SAAMI charts at the link below. The Casull's SAAMI MAP is 50kcup, which using the conversion formula of (1.51586 * CUP) - 17902.0 = PSI, puts the Casull at about 58kpsi.
