17 mach 2 contender barrel
« on: December 02, 2006, 08:38:54 AM »
A few weeks I sent my 10 inch S.S. 357 mag back to T/C because the duo rings pulled out.  Thursday 11-30-06 when I had the issue with my 209x50 so I called them to get a few parts while I had them on the phone I asked them about the 357 mag barrel. I was told that they are out of stock on that barrel and it will take a few weeks while it is on back order. I told them I will take a substitute barrel, The guy asked what I would be willing to take in it's place, I first asked for a Encore barrel and was quickly told it had to be a contender barrel. so I told them a 17 HM2. 2 days latter Saturday 12-2-06 I got a knock at the door it was FED EX with a box from T/C.. It was a brand new in package 17 Mach 2 in S.S. with wood forend and my duo rings. What great customer service!

Now I have no idea what I am going to do with this barrel and forend I do not use the wood grip sets so I have no use for this forend. and I know almost nothing about the 17 mach 2. how will it work on small games? squirrels, tree rats, rabbits, groundhogs, woodchucks, whistle pigs, rock chucks?

I don't have the pistol barrel, but my rifle barrel is great for the smaller stuff, but lacks a little when it comes to groundhogs.

I think you will like it.  Mine is boring it is so accurate.  Have fun!
