« on: February 26, 2007, 08:50:57 AM »
I have a double barrel LC Smith,,  serial # 1173xx,,O grade,, and it has the damacas type barrels..  Does the damacas design show up on in inside of the barrels, bore???   Someone told me that there were barrels made that have the damacas look on the outside and not the inside, and that they were ok to shoot modern loads???  any info on this gun ???? Anyone have a value on this gun,,,,Thanks for any info...Bruce..

If you have an LC Smith that LOOKS LIKE it has damascus barrels assume it does have. DO NOT shoot it. It can be tubed and then be safe to shoot as the tubes safely contain the pressures. You can just have standard tubes installed like those from Briley or Kolar to shoot smaller gauge shells or there is an outfit that will machine out your barrels and install tubes allowing you to use your gun in the gauge it's chambered to. BUT unless you have deep pockets and don't need to ask the price you really don't want more info on this option.
