Big dissappointment
« on: November 17, 2006, 06:49:23 AM »
I went to Uniontown PA to go to Woodland World, expecting to see alot of stuff, only to met with disapointment. They moved the store from Farmington, to down down Uniontown, because of  some kind of a offer the city gave to them. Well, that move is going to kill that store. In the brochure, it said they have 50,00 square feet, and on their wedsite, 10,oo square feet. They should have left it in Farmington.

Rumor has it that the owner has applied for a slots license to turn the building, which is located in a pristine area of the Laurel Highlands, into a casino. I was there a couple of years ago. It was kind of like a Cabela's. There was also a separate Winchester museum in a nearby restored barn. I don't know if that's still there or not.

That is not a good idea. He should turn that building back into a outdoor store.

The Bass Pro is going to be about a mile and a half from my home.....thinking I might take a part time job there when I retire. In the mean time,I go down interstate 70 a lot to the Cabela's store outside Wheeling WV. It's a huge store, always something special going on, and real easy to get to (it sits right off the interstate and has its own exit). Only about a half hour drive for me.

I wish we had a Cabela's store in my neck of the woods. I like Cabela's merchandise.

I have been to that Cabela'a a couple of times. Just what was that owner of that store thinking, turning it into a casino.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$ The guy's a multi millionaire. A casino will be the perfect compliment to the adjacent golf course, lodge, and resort which he also owns.

It looks like he's not going to have a casion after all.  You know what he needs to go, turn it back into a store. And I hope he realizes what a big mistake he made.
