What barrel should I get??
« on: March 13, 2013, 04:24:59 PM »
This one should be fun to see what you all say!  ;D
I will turn the big 4 0 next month and am thinking about getting another CONTENDER barrel in 40 cal/10mm because of it.
I already have the 40 S&W,10mm Auto and the 10mm MAG.

So what do you think I should get???

Cheers,
Justin

It depends on what you're going to do with it and what you already own. I personally had a 10mm and didn't find it any better than the 357 mag. Its good for a semi automatic handgun but there's many better for the Contender. The 357 Herrett can be loaded above and below the 10mm as can the 41 mag. Brass for either can be easily bought and made.

Hell's Bells ! I must be getting older. I forgot that I have the TCA 12" Octagon 38/40. :o
Let's see what would I do with it. Shoot it.  ;D
When it comes to the Contender barrels I'm a sucker for them and as long as a bullet comes out the muzzle I am happy.
I have the 45 Colt too so I have a few more years to come up with a nice 45 barrel.
Maybe the 400 Corbon? Not too many 40cal/10mm barrels being made by the custom guys.

I have both the 45 colt only plus the 45/410 type 2. I also have the 21" 410 smooth bore. Did I already say that Im a sucker for Contender barrels? I'm pushing 90 different chambers in my collection. More to come! Might have to switch to the Encore once i hit 50
