Austin&Halleck shotgun
« on: December 22, 2006, 05:29:29 PM »
Hello
I am new to black powder guns my son and I just purchased Austin&Hallek rifles and a shotgun, We went out and shot are rifles and were very impressed.
The question I have is what do I need to shoot the shotgun? I bought Thompson Center cups for turkey loads but they are very expensive. I would like
to take this gun out and rabbit hunt with it. I bought FFFG for the rifles and have read they use FFG or FG for shotguns. I dont understand the components to
to properly load it.I have seen nitro cards, fiber wads, lubed patches, overshot wads. I would like to find an inexpensive way to load it for small game and trap.
And then a combination for turkey and one for ducks and geese.
I thank you all for your time and responses.
