French(?) bolt action in "The Mummy"?

I've seen the film "The Mummy" a number of times and at the beginning Brendan Fraser's character, along with a company of what seem to be Legionaires prepare to be attacked by tribesmen on horse back.
They're using what appear to be single shot bolt actions that fire a relatively straight case cartridge with a a RN bullet.
The film is set between WW1 and WW2 but I'm completely baffled as to which rifle these soldier are using.
Can anyone fill me in on this?

The rifles appear to e the M1874 Gras, or the M1880 modification which was the standard french service rifle efore the M1886 Lebel.

Keep in mind movies have always been known to be horribly inaccurate when it comes to being historically correct.  The rifle and pistol that were used by Gary Cooper in the movie Sergeant York is a perfect example.

It is a Tube Magazine Mdl 1886 Lebel. He had fired all of his rounds from the wall
and was single loading while he ran. The rounds did look kind of odd.
Probably some sort of crimped blank. Could not see them close enough.
I had to watch the movie. Rachel Weiz is one sexy little vixen in that vail.
How would you like to bite that on the Butt, Develop lock-jaw and get drug to death !

Looks like a Lebel to me, but Rachel is more interesting.
