Long Beard I feel your pain. I got lucky opening day, but last Sat. was the same ol' story, across the huge swamp (posted) or getting hung up on at different location.
This morning I went with a friend to double team a bird he was on last year. He was henned up yesterday morning, but we knew where he was roosting. WRONG! He was across the swamp this morning and we didn't have the time to go after him. We talked with a jake to entertain ourselves but we hung up on him and went to work.
Looking forward to try Sat. at a new location hopefully less hunting pressure at this possible honey hole. Weather doesn't look all that good but, Oh well, I'll give it a try betwen showers.
I guess that 's all part of the game. Maybe next time.
Good Luck,
Stan
