assuming the same round, does the heavier 7.5 stainless hunter with the bisley grip handle the recoil better?

a tiny bit, barely noticeable ?
definitely better?

thanks

A definitely noticeable amount.  I find the Bisley grip to be MUCH more comfortable.

I always found the Bisley Grip to be very uncomfortable.  I prefer the DA grip.  I have sold both my Bisley's, they were the only guns I owned that I ever had to wear a padded biking glove to shoot without tearing my hand up.

I have a .45 LC Bisley 5 1/2" and a .45 LC Redhawk 5 1/2".  I shoot both with the full spectrum of loads, up to  325 grain Garrets at 1325 fps.  The Bisley is much more comfortable to me than my .44 Magnum 5 1/2 inch Blackhawk with the heaviest loads.  The Redhawk is about equal to the Bisley in my mind.  I build a .500 Linebaugh on a Redhawk 5 1/2" and am very happy with the results.  I do think the lighter 255 grain cast .45 Colts and the 410 grain .500 Linebaughs are the way to go for casual practice, kept to 800 fps or so.  I keep the heaviest loads for once a session sight confirmation, only one cylinder full,  not 50 rounds or bust.
